Day 4 ยท September 4
Hurry has a way of crowding out everything the Spirit is growing in you. Be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to become angry. Slow the hurry today.
Scripture Whisper: Be ready to listen, unhurried in your words, and slow to let anger take control.
Hurry can feel productive while quietly making us impatient with everyone around us. When we are rushing, interruptions feel like inconveniences, slow people feel like obstacles, and listening feels like something we do only until it is our turn to speak. Hurry may fill the schedule, but it can empty a moment of love.
Patience invites you to live at the pace of grace. It does not mean avoiding responsibility or moving without purpose. It means refusing to let urgency control your spirit. Jesus was never too hurried to notice a person, ask a question, or respond with compassion. His pace made room for people.
Today, notice where hurry is shaping your tone. You may not be able to change every deadline, but you can change the spirit you bring into it. A patient pause can protect a relationship. A few extra seconds of listening can communicate, โYou matter more than my rush.โ
Read today's Scripture focus and carry its truth into the ordinary moments of your day.
๐ James 1:19
โBe ready to listen, unhurried in your words, and slow to let anger take control.โ
Wear PINK today as a reminder: Slow the hurry. Be fully present.
๐๏ธ Write down one place where hurry regularly turns into impatience. Crumple the belief that everything must happen at your preferred speed.
โจ Choose one conversation today in which you will slow down, put away distractions, and listen without rushing the other person.
๐ Jesus, slow my heart even when my day feels full. Teach me to listen well, respond with grace, and make room for people in the middle of my plans. Amen.
Who might experience more of Godโs love if you slowed down long enough to truly notice them?
