Day 10 · September 10
Love is not a feeling to keep — it is a movement to make. As Jesus loved us, so we are to love one another. Move toward someone today.
Scripture Whisper: Love one another with the same active, self-giving love Jesus has shown you.
Love is easy to admire and harder to practice. It moves beyond good intentions and crosses the distance between people. Jesus did not love from a safe distance. He noticed, touched, listened, served, and moved toward people others avoided.
Our instinct is often to wait: wait for the apology, the invitation, the perfect words, or proof that our effort will be appreciated. But Spirit-led love is willing to take the first faithful step. It may look like checking on someone who has become quiet, sitting with a person who is hurting, or serving in a way that will never be posted or praised.
Moving toward someone does not mean ignoring healthy boundaries. It means refusing to let indifference make every decision. Ask God to show you one person who needs a visible expression of His love today. You do not need a grand gesture. A small act, offered sincerely, can remind someone that they have not been forgotten.
Read today's Scripture focus and carry its truth into the ordinary moments of your day.
📖 John 13:34
“Love one another with the same active, self-giving love Jesus has shown you.”
Wear RED today as a reminder: Love moves toward people.
🗑️ Write down one self-focused excuse that keeps you from reaching out: “I am too busy,” “Someone else will,” or “They probably do not need me.”
✨ Move toward one person through a call, visit, meal, note, prayer, or practical act of service.
🕐 Jesus, thank You for moving toward me with love. Open my eyes to someone who needs care today, and give me courage to take the first step. Amen.
Who might God be inviting you to move toward today?
